ECOWATER DO BRASIL, LTDA. STRUCTURE

Damage caused by invasive bivalves in Europe is estimated at 12,000 million euros. In Spain, from the first identification of D. polymorpha in 1991 until now, it is estimated that the damage has exceeded 8 billion euros. In Brazil it is estimated that this species has caused quantified losses of 34,000 million dollars and in the United States 134,000 million dollars. Other countries, such as Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay or countries of Central America are also affected by the zebra mussel, although in these cases there are no economic estimates that quantify the damages caused by the spread of the species.
